Transport Planner Engineer

Key Accountabilities:

Delivery Excellence:

• Good knowledge of Telecom Network Architecture.
• Transmission network planning covering a major mobile network operator, providing physical optical and electrical presentation connectivity plans for all network equipment.
• Network capacity management & dimensioning against forecast. Synchronization planning.
• New & expanding installs against forecasted growth or reduction. Protection management planning physical & logical
• Site audit & quality assurance checks of transport equipment & resolution solution tracking

Quality Assurance:

Functions as per QMS (quality management system) procedures. Performs Quality Control processes in accordance with set guidelines. Ensures quality targets laid out are met for the processes owned.

Other:

• Liaising with customers, Delivery Managers, Project Managers and Field Engineers to resolve technical issues pre & post installation making sure plans are delivered on time.
• Working in planning platform tools to create end to end physical & logical plans for implementation.
• Training & guidance of Junior team members.

• The authority is a consequence of the nature of the job and of the tasks established or delegated by the department manager.

Required competencies

• BA/BSc degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• At least 8-years’ experience working within a Transmission Planning environment. In-depth knowledge of Mobile Access Networks, Core Networks and IP structure. Experience with TDM & DWDM technology.
• Experience with Ericsson, Nokia, Ciena & Chronos equipment. Remedy or any fault logging systems.
• Transport planning tools.
• Live access experience to transport platforms. Fluent English spoken and written
• Willingness to travel within Europe if required
